The Town of Whitman seeks qualified candidates for the position of Clerical Assistant to perform clerical support duties under the direction of the Town Clerk.  The successful candidate will be responsible for thirty one hours, requiring flexible hours during Elections and Town Meetings. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, clerical and administrative work in the areas of Vital Statics, Licensing and Permits, Records Management and Census/Elections. Providing administrative support to the Town Clerk as well as providing customer assistance, cashiering and data processing.


Minimum Qualifications: A High School diploma or equivalent, as well as at least two years of secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a municipal setting are preferred.  


Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a municipal setting and in dealing with the public. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must possess great attention to detail and be able to multi-task and work accurately.


Salary: Stating pay rate – $23.33 per hour – benefitted, bargaining unit position.
