Chief Timothy J. Grenno would like to invite all families and residents to attend an open house on Monday 10/8 11AM - 2PM at the Whitman Fire Department, as part of National Fire Prevention Week programming in October.
Under the direction of Whitman Fire/Rescue SAFE Officer Thomas Ford, department firefighters and paramedics will teach families the importance of fire safety and prevention.
National Fire Prevention Week is from Oct. 7-13.
In a fire, every second counts. It is important for members of our community to know what to do if there is a fire. Fire safety education isn’t just for school children.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere,” works to educate people about three ways they can reduce the likelihood of having a fire—and how to escape safely if they have one.
