[ARCHIVED] Town of Whitman Seeks Nurse Volunteers for Future Vaccination Distribution

WHITMAN -- Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Timothy Grenno reports that the Whitman Emergency Management Agency will be looking for nurse and paramedic volunteers who may be interested in working at a COVID-19 vaccination drive-thru in the coming months.

When a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, the Whitman Emergency Management Agency, in conjunction with the Board of Health, will host a drive-thru vaccine clinic as part of the Town’s emergency dispensing site requirement, as outlined by the Department of Public Health.

The Town will be providing all personal protective equipment (PPE) for volunteers.

Those interested should contact Lisa Riley in the Fire Chief’s office, at 781-618-9866, and leave a voicemail to be added to a list of volunteers. Once a vaccination is ready to be distributed in town, the Fire Chief's Office will be contacting those interested to verify licensing and provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.

“We encourage any nurse from the Town of Whitman or the surrounding area to volunteer for this important clinic,” Chief Grenno said. “We do not know exactly when a vaccine will become available, but it is important to have volunteers in place to help ensure a smooth distribution process when the time comes.”
