This is an important message from Whitman Public Safety Officials regarding the Towns response to Tropical Storm Henri. When Tropical Storm Henri made landfall earlier this afternoon the storm quickly moved north-north-west sparing our area from any significant structural damage or flooding.
We may experience gusty winds over the next 24 hours so it's critical that everyone pay attention to their surroundings when outside or driving in a vehicle and stay away from any downed wires. All downed wires should be considered live wires. Please call 911 to report any downed wires.
The Whitman Emergency Operations Center will be closing at 3PM and the local state of emergency will be ending at 5PM tonight.
Have a great evening and stay safe!
